Chaz Bono, the 44-year-old transgender son of music icon Cher, is now healthy and in shape and, because of it, infinitely happier. He showed off his drastic weight loss on the season premiere of The Doctors.

The interview aired last night but, in case you missed it, below is an excerpt from it, showing the exact moment when Chaz makes the big reveal.

Chaz was on the show last year as well, when he weighed 250 pounds (113.3 kg) and was told he must lose at least 50-80 pounds (22.6-36.2 kg) because “failure [was] not an option” anymore: he had too severe health problems to afford eating the way he had until then.

So, The Doctors came up with a healthy eating plan and workout routine for him and, as you can see for yourself, they paid off because he’s never been in a better shape.

“I just feel much more comfortable in my skin now,” Bono said, beaming.

For Chaz, losing weight was more than just a vanity thing because of his deteriorating health. He’s happy to have been able to put that in his past.

“Everything is easier. Everything physically is easier. Everything feels better. And then emotionally, I just feel more comfortable and more confident,” the LGBT activist added.

In May this year, Bono revealed that he’d dropped an impressive 65 pounds (29.4 kg) with healthy eating and plenty of exercise. He even joked that he’d even consider doing Dancing With the Stars again seeing in what amazing shape he was.

“To me, it was never really about a number. It was just about getting healthy and feeling and looking better. So I'm just kind of letting my body dictate. I've been eating the same way now for months and months and that hasn't changed. I'm going to have to eat this way for the rest of my life,” Chaz said at the time.
