New fans of the series didn't understand the point of the chases

Ubisoft has confirmed a few more details about the design decisions it made with Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, confirming that many chases were eliminated from the campaign because they just confused players.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag came out several weeks ago across the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U platforms.

The game impressed quite a lot of franchise fans largely because it addressed many of the complaints directed at last year's Assassin's Creed 3.

Now, Ubisoft's Tim Browne has confirmed a new fact about the issues resolved in Black Flag, particularly when it comes to chases.

"We found that chases often confused players, particularly new one. Though useful they’re not essential so we removed them," he said on the UbiBlog.

Ubisoft is currently busy on patches and updates for Black Flag across all of its platforms.
