Kristen Stewart is often described in the media as too cold and distant for her age, which makes her look considerably older than her 19 years. She is also said to be rude and indifferent to anyone that is not herself, even if that person happens to be a diehard fan who traveled halfway across the world just to meet her. Stewart’s latest interview with Times Online, though, shows that she’s actually the opposite of that.

As the Times interviewer points out from the very start, being in Stewart’s presence is truly an honor: at just 19, this young actress with incredible potential continues to do what she loves the most, acts in all sorts of challenging projects, while she also manages to successfully carry on her shoulders this world’s biggest teen franchise, “The Twilight Saga.” Stewart is very articulate, extremely charming, impressively intelligent and, above all, highly talented, the Times piece says. The only reason why people don’t get her is because she doesn’t like to put herself in the spotlight more than it is necessary.

However, with the success of “Twilight” and the hit that “New Moon” will also undoubtedly be, Stewart is willy-nilly forced to deal with the consequences of fame. This is, though, something that she’s ready to live with, as long as (and because) it allows her to do what she’s been doing ever since she got into the game at a very tender age: act. So far, she’s starred next to the likes of Sean Penn and Jodie Foster, from whom she has learned a lot, so she’s not sorry she’s missing out on what they call the “regular” life, the star reveals. This also includes going to school and bonding with girls and boys her own age.

“I’m glad I could do those films, and I was glad to leave school. I couldn’t relate to kids my own age. They are mean and don’t give you any chance. […] Once you have done with school, you realize it is just a smaller version of life. When I was there, I was never the type of girl to be walking around talking about acting, so I didn’t get a whole lot of hassle for that, until someone found out, until someone saw some old movie and realized. I was trying to play it down, but I definitely got, ‘Oh, she’s such a [expletive].’ They’d never spoken to me, but instantly they were, like, ‘You are so rude.’ I am not rude.” Stewart says for the Times.

In the same interview, Stewart also shares she doesn’t have to deal with Twilighters as, say, Pattinson or Lautner do, which works well to her advantage. “Really, people don’t recognize me often. I think I just look different in person or something. I’m also not very approachable, and maybe they’re just thinking, ‘Ooohhh, she’s scary.’” the actress points out, adding that this kind of semi-anonymity is way more than she had hoped when she saw the heights to which “Twilight” was propelled.
