The latest buzz in Hollywood says that the director Paul Haggis is fervently preparing to do a follow-up to his internationally acclaimed 'Crash' and that he has already chosen two
Oscar-winners for the main parts: Charlize Theron and Tommy Lee Jones.
It will be a Warner Independent Pictures project, without a title as of yet (but with chances going strong for 'The Garden of Elah'), inspired from an investigative story published in 'Playboy'. The 'Death and Dishonor' article was the result of a private investigation by journalist Mark Boal, about a father and army officer who refused to accept that his son was AWOL in Iraq (as his officers said), only to discover that he had been brutally murdered.
Haggis bought the rights for the story and, together with Boal, re-wrote and fictionalized it. It is supposed that, if the two actors accept the offer, Jones will take on the father's role, while Charlize will play the part of a police officer who aids him in his search.
The Oscar-winning director is hopeful that production will be begun no later than early November. As for the rest of the cast, or any other details about the movie, they are all kept well under wraps until a later date.
