The first signs of stress are beginning to show in the odd relationship between actors Charlize Theron and Sean Penn. The unlikely couple has flown out to South Africa some while ago, to begin filming their new pet project, “The Last Face,” and it seems that working together on set has not brought them closer but has actually driven them apart.

A report from Star Magazine claims that Charlize, who stars in the movie, and Sean, who sits in the director's chair, have been going at each other's throats while in Cape Town. The main reason seems to be that the two might be vibing as a couple, but when it comes to working together, their creative differences lead to a lot of head-butting.

One insider from the movie set is quoted as saying that “Sean is a different person on set. He's a perfectionist and it's driving Charlize insane.” Among his perfection-driven antics, we find out that he interrupts Charlize's scenes and makes her do her lines over and over again because he feels she lacks passion and conviction.

Needless to say, this does not bode well for Charlize, an Oscar-winning actress with a lot of experience in movie-making. Their on-set fighting has gotten so bad that it's beginning to interfere with their relationship.

“Sean the director is not the man Charlize fell in love with,” points out the insider. “They have been arguing big time!,” he warns.

Of course, this is only one report, but at this point is feels like it's real. Charlize and Sean are two very different people which makes their relationship that much weirder. Charlize has always come across as this independent woman and she's always talking about women's rights and feminism, while Sean is known to want to keep his women in check.

When these two first came out in public as a couple, their love felt forced, or rather as if they both settled for the person closest to them, because it was the most convenient thing to do. Admittedly, Sean seemed a little more interesting in landing Charlize than she was in landing him, but in the end, they got together because of their previous friendship.

Friends and family have claimed that they are both perfect for each other, but this movie project is proving everyone wrong and it's pointing out the distinct differences between the two, in the sense that they both want to lead in their respective relationships, but none is actually willing to give in to the other. Hence the drama.
