Charlize Theron is one of the most talented and gorgeous women in showbiz and she has an Oscar and countless beauty endorsements to prove it. According to ‘90s star Tia Mowry, Charlize also happens to be one of the nastiest women around, even by celebrity standards.

You might not be able to tell by just looking at her, but Charlize is the undisputable queen on mean in Hollywood, or so Tia would have us believe. And all that because she did not deign to speak to her when she approached her at a SoulCycle spin class, Tia tells the latest issue of InTouch magazine.

Us regular folks usually get starstruck whenever we come across our favorite idol or a celebrity we didn’t expect to meet. Consequently, we’re bound to do some stupid stuff, like burst into tears, start ranting and acting weird, or try to impose on said celebrity in the hope of getting an autograph or, even better, a photo with them.

It’s the way this business works and celebrities know to expect this kind of behavior whenever they go out. However, a select few (with Charlize among them, apparently) would rather you did not address them when you see them walk down the street because they are not to be bothered in any way.

According to Tia, she saw Charlize at the spin class and went over to her to say hi and shake hands, because she had long been an admirer of her work. Charlize wasn’t having any of it.

“She wasn’t very nice to me. I said ‘Hi,’ and she actually rolled her eyes and said, ‘Oh my God’,” Tia tells the celebrity publication. We can almost picture the scene, and save for Tia’s public embarrassment, it must have been fun – in a worthy of “Mean Girls” kind of way.

“I wasn’t over-the-top. I know how to approach another celebrity. Charlize was just mean. I’m just being honest,” Tia continues. Apparently, she understands that anyone can have a bad day when they just snap at everyone, but Charlize really raised the bar on being mean to strangers for no apparent reason.

Clearly, the Oscar-winning actress is going through a patch in which she’s had just about enough of people prying into her business. Though she usually manages to go for very long stretches without once making it in the tabloids, since she started dating actor Sean Penn, she’s been hounded by the paparazzi and has become a tabloid fixture.

The sense of privacy invasion is such that, in a recent interview, she even compared the attention she’s getting from the paparazzi around the clock to “rape,” for which she was thoroughly trashed online. She probably meant “violation,” but other than that, she made her point clear: she doesn’t like it when people assume she’s there for them to speak to, sign autographs, pose for photos, etc.

Does that make her mean? Probably so. But what does the fact that Tia went to the press with her story make Tia? You tell us in the comments below.
