In what is their first collaboration since the critically acclaimed “Juno,” screenwriter Diablo Cody has again teamed up with director Jason Reitman for “Young Adult.” The first trailer is here.

There’s a lot riding on this film, with fans expecting something that would top “Juno.” Neither Reitman nor Cody has yet disappointed in their work after said film and, by the looks of the trailer, they won’t do so now either.

In “Young Adult,” a dark comedy, Charlize Theron plays an alcoholic author of cheap novels come back home to win the heart of her high school sweetheart, played by Patrick Wilson.

The fact that he’s married and has a child matters very little to her, as she sets out to convince him that they can overcome this together, which should provide ample room for unexpected giggles.

The film also stars Patton Oswalt and J.K. Simmons, and will see limited release in the US on December 9.
