Charlize Theron has two movies coming out this summer and, whether she likes it or not, she has to answer some personal questions while she's promoting them. Luckily, she's not all that shy when it comes to her son Jackson, her latest addition to her family.
Though she's usually fiercely private, Charlize was willing to open up on Ellen the other night, even showing the audience two photos of her with her newly adopted son and her two other “boys,” two rescue dogs she took in some time ago.
As you can see in the video below, the stunning actress also shot down talk about how she's a single mom, saying she's getting all the help in the world, including from her two pups (a Terrier and a Pitt), who fell madly in love with Jackson the moment they saw him.
“People keep saying, 'Oh you’re a single mom' and I’m like, actually I’m not I got two boys [her dogs] helping me out. It’s incredible,” the 36-year-old Oscar winner tells Ellen.
“From the moment this baby came into our home, those two dogs have never been more in love. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed,” she adds.
While the Terrier is “the pacifier thief,” the Pitt is really helping Charlize out with taking care of Jackson, says the star.
“The Pitt woke up with me for every feed, for every change, and whenever the baby would cry, The Pitt would start crying,” Charlize explains.
In the same interview, the actress sets the record straight on the adoption, saying Jackson is American and that it took her two years until she was finally able to welcome him into her home. He was just 9 days at the time.
“My mom said the most beautiful thing. I’m going to cry. She said, 'It took me nine months to fall in love with you while you were growing in my stomach.' She’s like, 'It took you two years to fall in love with this little baby',” Charlize says.
“It really took two years of just waiting and then one day it’s finally there. It just feels exactly how it’s supposed to feel. I don’t know how to describe it. It just feels right,” she adds.
Because Ellen is in the habit of giving her fans the most ridiculous and funny gifts, she didn't want to break it now so she gave Charlize a suit and space helmet for Jackson, identical to the one she'll be seen wearing in “Prometheus.”
