The 30-year-old South African actress will guest star in five episodes of Fox comedy series Arrested Development.

Oscar winner Charlize Theron, who can be seen on the big screen in the upcoming North Country and Aeon Flux, will play a British woman who becomes the love interest of "Development" star Jason Bateman in the third season.

The "Monster" star will appear in the second episode of the season, following its September 19 premiere.

Theron has also joined the cast of the sequel to the 2003 "The Italian Job".
She will play Stella Bridger in "The Brazilian Job" and will also star in Kimberly Peirces's "The Ice at the Bottom of the World"
