If his “Violent Torpedo of Truth / Defeat Is Not an Option” tour was not enough for his diehard fans, they should be happy to know that Comedy Central has announced a Charlie Sheen roast, which will take place in September.

Coincidence or not, the roast will air in September, precisely on the day that the first episode of “Two and a Half Men,” with Ashton Kutcher as Sheen’s replacement will air on TV, PopEater underlines.

“Prepare yourself for another barrage of tiger blood and winning jokes – Comedy Central announced this morning that its newest roast target is none other than the rock star from Mars himself, Charlie Sheen,” the e-zine reports.

In response to Comedy Central’s announcement, Sheen has issued his own, saying that, if anything, a roast was overdue since he more than did his part to provide them with awesome joke material.

“You could say I’ve been providing kindling for this Roast for a while. It’s time to light it up. It’s going to be epic,” he says.

Indeed, it would have been epic if this happened in early 2011 and not now, when the world is already starting to grow weary of the warlock with tiger blood coursing through his veins, the aforementioned publication believes.

There was a time when the move would have been a guaranteed hit, back in the day when the world still believed there was some substance to Sheen’s apparent madness.

Now that nothing has come out of that much talking and Sheen remains basically an “unemployed winner,” as he describes himself in his Twitter short bio, chances are that the roast won’t be half as interesting as it could have been.

“The real question, though, is if we actually want the Roast. Sure, it could’ve been hilarious during the Sheen-mania of early ‘11, but now that we’ve seen the aftermath of the actor's self-destruction, will those goddess-referencing jokes still be funny?” PopEater asks.

Only time will tell. Keep an eye on this space for details.
