Mercurial actor Charlie Sheen was accused yesterday of attacking a dentist while in his chair and it was believed that he was having a drugged-out meltdown. Since just days ago it was reported that he had shut down filming on “Anger Management” due to a freak accident also considered to have been caused by drugs, the story made a lot of sense.

Today, Charlie Sheen's representative, Jeff Ballard, spoke with TMZ and cleared the matter. It turns out that Charlie wasn't high, or if her was, he wasn't on any illegal drugs. The representative confirms that Charlie was taking some medication for a shoulder injury and he claims that his medication reacted funnily with the drugs the dentist gave him for the procedure.

Charlie merely knocked the medical tray over, there was no knife

It seems that Charlie did flail his arms around while in the chair and this caused the tray of dental instruments to be knocked over, but that was pretty much it, there was no assault and there was definitely no knife like previously reported.

The matter was serious enough to land into Charlie Sheen's lawyer lap. Marty Singer has also addressed the matter and provided further explanation, “The story is being made up by this woman [the dental technician] who was fired on Friday for violating HIPAA by telling her son Charlie was in the office. It got back to Charlie and the dentist fired her.”

The technician told a very different story to the cops who came in to investigate. She alleged that Charlie came at the dentist with a knife. If this was the case, the police would have started an investigation for felony assault with a deadly weapon and even battery.

The technician who reported the assault was later fired

The dentist's story, however, doesn't mention anything about a knife and that's why the police drew the conclusion the technician was lying. The fact that the technician later got fired for leaking the information that Charlie Sheen was at the dentist's office seems to confirm that the story is bogus.

Under the circumstances, Charlie Sheen looks to be in the clear from the assault and battery accusations and he's going to keep seeing his dentist.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Charlie Sheen was headed for another meltdown and he supposedly managed to hurt his face bad enough that they had to shut down production on his sitcom “Anger Management” and allow him time to heal.

His representative said that Charlie was playing with his dogs when he managed to jump in the shallow end of the pool and cut his nose pretty badly. Sources close to the actor, however, said that Charlie was never big on swimming so the accident might have been caused by drugs.

The actor had been displaying some pretty erratic behavior before that, even firing his long time bodyguard, which was a move that surprised many in his entourage.
