Fans of Charlie Sheen as Charlie Harper on “Two and a Half Men” can still cling to some faint hope they might see him return on the show sometime in the future. As far as Sheen is concerned, he’d gladly do a cameo if he was asked to.

A couple of days ago, Sheen sat down with Matt Lauer on The Today Show to speak of his upcoming roast on Comedy Central, the new (and admittedly improved) “Two and a Half Men” without him, and his future projects.

Considering the terms on which he left the highly successful series, one could easily conclude that he’d never want to resume his role – but one would be wrong in doing so, as the video below will show.

Sheen would do a cameo if he was ever asked to, he tells Lauer, trying to prove, once more, that there’s no bad blood between himself and Chuck Lorre and Warner Bros., at least not on his side.

“Absolutely,” Sheen says without hesitating, when asked if he’d ever come back to “Men.”

“If they wanted or needed it or thought that was a good idea, I’d be completely on board for that. There’s your closer. I’ll be in the final episode,” he explains.

Moreover, there’s even a good chance he may appear farther down the road, in one episode from the upcoming seasons, he explains.

“Unless I’m really dead. There’s no body at the funeral. There’s no urn… I’m really curious about what happened to me. I’m not just looking at it just as what they’re doing forward but I’m looking at it as what I left behind and how they’re going to figure it out,” Sheen says.

Speaking of the roast, which will air at the same time as the season premiere of “Men,” the actor revealed that fans should expect jokes with no kinds of boundaries because, as he puts it, when you have someone with a life as “roastable” as his, you should know what you’re in for.
