The future isn't bright for American Idol. With rumors saying that Jennifer Lopez might not return for another season, and speculation that the entire panel might be replaced, Charlie Sheen says he'd gladly fill one seat – on two conditions.

As we also reported the other day, producers on AI are preparing for the worst, namely having to replace the entire panel, made up on season 11 by Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.

They're sending out feelers and considering a variety of pop stars and actors for the job, including Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, will.i.am and, as of late, Charlie Sheen and Jerry Lewis.

As far as Sheen is concerned, he tells TMZ he's totally game for the show: if producers want him, he'll sign on the dotted line the minute they see that his two conditions are met.

He's not even asking for that much, come to think of it.

“CONDITION #1. Charlie says FX – the network that airs his show 'Anger Management' – must sign off on an Idol deal... but Jennifer Lopez proved, being on AI can be good for business,” TMZ writes after speaking to the actor.

His demand makes sense: after the “Two and a Half Men” debacle, FX was the only network willing to work with him, and his brand new show, “Anger Management,” has just premiered.

Unlike the last time, Sheen seems determined to play nice with his bosses.

“CONDITION #2. Charlie says the money has to be right: 'If the numbers move the needle AND Idol matches 20% of my weekly salary for Autism Speaks, JDRF, and the Boys and Girls Club... then the hell with it. As we say, pour the smoke',” TMZ writes.

“That's Charlie-speak for 'Why the hell not?',” the same media outlet adds.

TMZ also tried to contact Jerry Lewis but he's in Nashville working and was not immediately available for comment.

Though Lopez has said she has no plans of leaving Idol yet, she's also dropped several major hints that this is precisely what she has in mind.

Producers are said to be desperate to sign her for another season but, at the same time, they're also thinking of the worst case scenario and thinking of possible replacements.
