Actor Charlie Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller had reportedly been having problems long before the incident of later last year that ended with him behind bars, and with her fearing for her life as he lashed out at her. Just hours ago, Sheen pled guilty to domestic violence charges and has managed to get what TMZ calls the quickest jail sentence ever: because it’ll only be a few seconds long.

Shortly after the aforementioned incident, in which he reportedly attacked his wife with a knife during a drunken argument, Sheen refused to make any comments to the media and went on his way to solving his problems. He went to rehab and to anger management classes, while the media speculated about how much time he’d spend behind bars – with some saying he may actually have to do hard time for about 15 days. As it turns out, Sheen’s good behavior has paid off – and he’s now (nearly) a free man.

“TMZ has learned Charlie Sheen’s actual ‘jail’ sentence will last only seconds. TMZ broke the story... under the plea deal just approved by the court, Charlie will get a 30-day sentence which will be ‘administered and executed’ at Promises rehab facility in Malibu – where Charlie stayed either full or part-time for more than a month earlier this year,” TMZ informs. That is to say, the actor was sentenced to serve time he’s already served.

“Sources connected with the case tell TMZ that Charlie will receive credit for ‘time served’... translation, we’re told Charlie will check into Promises on August 23 and immediately leave. And it gets even better for Sheen – he’s already completed his 36 hours of anger management, another element of the plea deal. The plea bargain is a victory for Yale Galanter, who shockingly represents the alleged victim in the case – Brooke Mueller. Galanter ended up negotiating the plea with the Pitkin County DA,” TMZ goes on to say.

Since Sheen is the second celebrity to get media in recent weeks for legal matters, comparisons to Lindsay Lohan’s case did not fail to surface online. While he accepted responsibility for his outburst by pleading guilty and doing what he was told by the court, Lohan did the exact opposite of that: always complaining that others were to blame for her problems and constantly crossing the judge by not following orders. Sheen is almost home free. Lindsay both served time behind bars and was sent to rehab for 3 months.
