One is notorious for his alleged drug binges and his love of escorts, the other for her hard partying and apparent inability to obey the law. Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan met and bonded on the set of “Scary Movie 5,” with Charlie stepping up for Lindsay to help her pay her taxes.

Considering she’s spent the last few years in and out of the courtroom, Lindsay can’t really say producers are too eager to work with her, which explains why she’s now, in her late 20s, working on her comeback.

This, in turn, has prompted plenty of speculation on how she manages to maintain her lifestyle. Some say she’s been bankrupt for years, with reports noting that she even owes Uncle Sam a pretty dime.

Luckily, money is the one thing that Charlie Sheen has plenty of, if we’re to believe a recent report by TMZ.

The celebrity e-zine claims to have it on very good authority that Sheen personally forked up $100,000 (€77,202) to help Lindsay out of a financial pickle.

“Don't ever say Charlie Sheen's not the charitable type – because he recently cut Lindsay Lohan a $100,000 check to cover the actress' six-figure tax bill... all out of the goodness of his heart, sources tell TMZ,” the e-zine writes.

“Sources close to Lindsay tell us she and Charlie became close pals while on the set of ‘Scary Movie 5’ back in September – spending a lot of time together both on and off the set,” the same media outlet notes.

It was then that Lindsay opened to Charlie on her many problems, including an outstanding unpaid tax bill, which he immediately offered to help her pay.

Lindsay refused, TMZ says.

However, this week, she received a check from Sheen himself, to the amount specified above. Lindsay immediately went and handed it over to the IRS, thus cutting her debt in half.

The aforementioned celebrity publication writes that Lohan stands to make $2 million (€1.54 million) by the end of the year, so chances are Sheen will be getting his money back.
