14 DAY TRIAL // At the beginning of 2009, Charlie Sheen reportedly held then-wife Brooke Mueller prisoner in a mountain cabin, threatening to kill her with a kitchen knife. Several trips to rehab later, they are now vacationing in Mexico, sparking rumors of a possible reconciliation.
After struggling with addiction as well, Brooke is now clean, reports suggest. The same goes for Sheen who, earlier this year, worried fans with a series of interviews and videos that made him look as if he was under the influence.
Now focusing on their family, the two jetted off to Mexico to spend the weekend together, instantly generating lots of talk about a possible reconciliation.
They have been “getting counseling and therapy [with] the boys” and Mueller “is actually responding to treatment,” a source tells Us Weekly.
“She’s totally gung-ho. He just wants his kids to be happy, and if that means they need to be a family, then he is up for it... The kids have suffered a lot, and he feels so guilty lately,” the spy adds.
However, Sheen doesn’t want this kind of rumors in the press, even if there’s some truth to them. In a statement to TMZ, the actor stresses that he and Brooke are only spending this much time together because they’re trying to be good parents.
They haven’t even talked about getting back together, he says – that is off the table.
“Charlie tells TMZ they’re still just ‘good friends trying to be great parents.’ As TMZ first reported, the former couple went south of the border this weekend – Charlie decided to take Brooke as a sort of ‘birthday / you’re doing great in rehab’ present,” TMZ writes.
“Charlie tells us a romantic reconciliation is not in the cards. In warlock speak, Charlie says they are simply ‘working on mending the bridges, replanting scorched earth. The goal is harmony’,” the e-zine adds.
As far as the world knows, Charlie Sheen is still Goddess-less after Brooke and his other two Goddesses left.
