After yesterday’s emergency hospitalization, which may have had something do with an alleged 36-hour cocaine bender, actor Charlie Sheen has checked into rehab. Meanwhile, his “Two and a Half Men” show is on hiatus again.
As we
also noted the other day, Sheen was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of morning, after complaining of intense abdominal pains.
Reports online say he was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. Others say he OD’ed on cocaine, while some even claim he “laughed too hard at the TV” and got abdominal pains.
Either way, Sheen is back in rehab, reps for the show say in a statement for
TMZ. “Two and a Half Men” will halt production until the actor sorts out his problems, and will resume the moment he says he’s ok to come back to work.
“Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing ‘Two and a Half Men’ on production hiatus,” reads the statement.
“We are
profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision,” the statement also says.
Oddly enough, it’s less than a year that Sheen signed on for 2 more seasons of the show after another series of incidents and another visit to rehab. He’s now getting
around $2 million per episode.
The actor’s publicist confirms the news, saying he’s happy the network is standing by its star. “He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern,” says the rep.
So far, no word yet on what landed Sheen in the hospital, though rumor is strong that drugs may have had something to do with his latest ER trip.
The other day, for instance, hours after he was carried out of his home to the awaiting ambulance on a gurney, word got out that he’d had a “briefcase” full of cocaine delivered to his house 36 hours before – and that he’d been partying non-stop ever since.
