Saatchi claimed that Lawson was not crying because he was harming her

Charles Saatchi is dismissing claims according to which he is separated from his wife of ten years, celebrity chef Nigella Lawson.

As I wrote yesterday, Lawson took her bags and left their home with her teenage son after photos of her husband choking her during a public feud emerged.

Saatchi has previously written off the choking incident as “a playful tiff,” even adding that the photos made the display of domestic violence appear more dramatic than it really was.

He has turned himself to a police station where he has received a “caution,” which doesn't carry a legal penalty and does not register as an offense on his record.

However, Lawson did leave the London restaurant where witnesses saw them arguing in tears, but Saatchi has a response for that too.

“Nigella's tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt," he says.

According to Sky News, Saatchi added that his wife left their home to avoid talking to the press, a move which they discussed together.
