Star has been Charles Manson’s girlfriend since she was 19; at 25, she says they’re getting married

At 25, Star is 54 years Charles Manson’s junior but she insists the age difference means nothing. Moreover, she reveals in a new interview with Rolling Stone, the two are getting married, even though the logistics of it borders on the impossible given that he’s serving a life sentence in prison.

Manson, perhaps the most famous convicted killer in history, is now serving his sentence in California’s Corcoran State Prison. Star struck up a friendship with him when she was just 19 years old. She now considers him her “boyfriend” and husband, though not legally yet.

“Yeah, well, people can think I'm crazy. But they don't know. This is what's right for me. This is what I was born for,” Star says for Rolling Stone.

She came across some of Manson’s environmentalist writing when she was 19 and became his pen pal. Shortly afterwards, she packed her bags, took the money she’d raised by working in the kitchen of a retirement home and moved to California, close to the prison where the love of her life is being held.

When Manson met her, he “named her Star,” the publication writes, which hints that this is not her real name. Star sees nothing wrong with being called something else than the name her parents chose for her.

She visits Manson regularly on weekends for up to 5 hours a day, she says, adding that, if “California lifers” still had conjugal visits, “we’d be married by now.”

Surprisingly, she has faith in that it will happen, eventually. “Charlie and I are going to get married. When that will be, we don't know. But I take it very seriously... Charlie is my husband. Charlie told me to tell you this. We haven't told anybody about that,” she says.

Manson is singing a different tune though, saying for Rolling Stone, “That's a bunch of garbage. You know that, man. That's trash. We're just playing that for public consumption.”

Star recently got an X carved into her forehead, to match Manson’s own mark.

Below is a video of Star defending Manson by arguing that the media has been lying about him for decades.
