Charles Barkley has defended the Zimmerman verdict, saying that, although racial profiling did occur, the victim attacked the shooter when he got killed.

According to Fox News, Barkley believes that Zimmerman had to defend himself, although he had initially been pursuing Martin because of the color of his skin.

The former NBA superstar has also stressed that the jury had no evidence to convict Zimmerman. He also notes that the media made this case about racism by letting their own bias slip through in their reports.

“I feel sorry that young kid got killed, but they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him. Something clearly went wrong that night — clearly something went wrong — and I feel bad for anybody who loses a kid, but if you looked at the case and you don’t make it — there was some racial profiling, no question about it — but something happened that changed the dynamic of that night,” he says.

According to the ex NBA star, both white and black people are racist, and this case has not been analyzed based on facts, but personal convictions.
