Charisma Carpenter, whom fans of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” must surely remember as the always annoying Cordelia Chase, is the host of a new Investigation Discovery series “Surviving Evil” that premiered last night.

On the show’s premiere, the actress also opened up about a very violent attack she survived, when she was jumped by a serial rapist she eventually managed to fight off.

Check out the two teasers below for a preview of her account.

The incident happened in 1991, when Charisma and two male friends were walking on a beach in San Diego.

Serial rapist Henry Hubbard Jr. attacked them. The star’s two friends got shot in the scuffle, as also did the assailant, who was caught thanks to her collaboration with the police.

He is now serving a 56-year sentence in prison.

In the second video, Charisma explains that she felt watched long before the attack, which makes her think she’d been singled out.
