Chaos Legion is a video game developed and published by Capcom and created for the PlayStation 2 gaming console from Sony and for the PC. Released in 2003, the game is classed as an action adventure title with a lot of role playing elements intertwined in the gameplay. It is played from a third person perspective.
The game puts the player in the shoes of a young knight, named Sieg Wahrheit, who must face an old friend, Victor Delacroix, who has turned to the side of evil in this gothic themed action adventure. The latter steals the forbidden Apocrypha of Yzarc, which holds immense power, and Sieg must go out and stop him from using it.
There are different warrior legions, each with its own signature weaponry that the player can control in the game. Every unit needs to be summoned before it can be commanded and all the weapons at your disposal are also there to be used by the enemy. The levels are rather large and the graphics quality is also good. The bad news is that the game tends to be hard, with killing all the enemies on a map as a precondition to advance to a new level. The Legion mechanics also has some drawbacks, with the Legions being virtually uncontrollable.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Enemy weaknesses
The clear enemies and the Giant Behemoths are weak against Lightning. All enemies are weak against fire, and can be easily brought to their knees with an Avenger level 2 or Breakdown level 2. Malice will make quick work of any metallic monsters on any level. The stage 8 Boss is weak against Breakdown level 2 or Air Blaze level 2. Organic enemies are weak against Guilt.
Boxed-up Gates
You will eventually encounter gates with huge metal boxes behind them. Notice that you can lock on to these gates and even attack them, but it does not really do anything. That is because you need to use a Legion's attack to open it. To see which Legion you should use, check the little circle in the gate, and make sure it matches your Legion's symbol.
Power-ups
On the stage 11, constantly explore before continuing onward. You will find plenty of power-ups.
