Chaos Legion is a video game developed and published by Capcom. It was created for the PlayStation 2 gaming console from Sony and for the PC. It was released in 2003. The game is classed as an action adventure title with a lot of role playing elements intertwined in the gameplay. It is played from a third person perspective.
The game is set to let the player be a young knight, named Sieg Wahrheit, who must face an old friend who has turned to the side of evil in this gothic themed action adventure. The name of the old friend is Victor Delacroix and he steals the forbidden Apocrypha of Yzarc, which holds immense power, and Sieg must go out and stop him from using it.
There are different warrior legions each with its own signature weaponry that the player can control in the game. Each unit needs to be summoned before it can be commanded and all the weapons at your disposal are also there to be used by the enemy. The levels are rather large and the graphics quality is also good. The bad news is that the game tends to be hard, with killing all the enemies on a map as a precondition to advance to a new level. The Legion mechanics also has some drawbacks, with the Legions being virtually uncontrollable.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Level up legions
Blasphemy and Hatred Legions are by far the hardest Legions to level up. Take out one of your more powerful Legions along if you are using either one of them.
On the Lakeside level, have Malice Legion and Flawed Legion equipped. At the beginning of the level, kill one of the Spiked monsters on the first ledge. You can attack the Cannon monster a few times and make him fall off the ledges without dying (leaving the Spiked monsters still alive). Then, summon the Malice Legion and have them attack the monsters from the safety of the top ledge. This will allow you to get the power ups later in the level after leveling up Flawed Legion to get the double jump.
Guilt Legion
When using the Guilt Legion, treat them as your troops and yourself as a general. Command them into attacking targets who pose the largest threat to you by locking on and using Force Attack. If you are in need of protection from an onslaught, unsummon then resummon the Legion after putting it into passive mode. Then, when enemies close in, press Force Attack and let your minions do the dirty work.
