Those thinking about winning loads of money by solving the Beal Conjecture number theory problem might want to do some chanting before grabbing a pencil and getting down to work.

Professor Robert Colbert says that, though most people tend to giggle when seeing others sitting around chanting “om,” this relaxation technique is surprisingly efficient.

Thus, taking the time to repeat a certain sound time and time again, and keeping your eyes closed while doing so, can help boost brain power, sources say.

The professor explains that, according to his investigations, students who chanted for 20 minutes twice a day got higher exam grades than those who did not.

This relaxation technique is commonly referred to as Transcendental Meditation.

Interestingly enough, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney are both Transcendental Meditation enthusiasts.

“It is one of the few things anyone has ever given to me that means so much to me. For us, it came at a time when we were looking for something to stabilise us at the end of the crazy Sixties,” the latter said in an interview in 2009.
