Actor is taking his writing duties in serious, gets help from a McConaughey bust

Just the other day, Channing Tatum was telling Ellen DeGeneres that he had gotten very “fappy,” fat and happy, during his time off from work, at home with his wife and their first child. It seems that he’s slowly getting back to work, judging by the photo above.

Posted by the actor on his Instagram account, the pic shows him at his desk, looking over the script to the sequel of his hit movie “Magic Mike,” whose script he wrote based on his own experience starting out in showbiz.

Channing is wearing a feathered hat and on the desk in front of him is what looks like a bust of Matthew McConaughey, who starred with him in the first “Magic Mike” film.

“What better way to start writing #MagicMike2 than with my old friend Dallas? #runatribe,” he wrote in the caption.

In previous interviews, Channing promised that the sequel would be more fun and much more over the top than the original, which was more of a drama than the kind of movie most female moviegoers probably expected.

“[It will be] crazy and fun and less slice-of-life and less drama. The first one, we had to make not so cheesy and campy; this one we are going to swing for the fences,” were his exact words.

“Magic Mike 2” doesn’t even have a tentative release date, but it would be unrealistic to expect it to be out in theaters in less than 2 years’ time.
