Great news for fans of Channing Tatum’s dancing: he just confirmed on The Today Show that the sequel to the critical and commercial hit “Magic Mike,” the not-so-subtly called “Magic Mike XXL,” will feature five times more dancing than the original, at least where his character is concerned.

Tatum is now one of Hollywood’s hottest actors and he’s looking to branch out as well, into producing and directing. He’s already proved he can do comedy and drama, and we all know that the role that got him mainstream attention was the one in the dance flick “Step Up,” the first installment in a franchise that’s still getting installments made today.

So, what we know so far: Channing is talented and versatile, but also very handsome and with the body – and the moves – of a god. We also know that he will be doing way more dance scenes for “Magic Mike XXL,” so here’s to hoping we’ll be getting choreography as spectacular as in the original.

If you don’t know his solo on Ginuwine’s “Pony,” you’ve been missing out on one of the finest things in life. The second video embedded below is here to offer you a taste of the scandalous (and very popular with the ladies) routine.

However, Channing is all this and more: in the same Today interview, he opens up about his family life and how fatherhood has changed him, and he gushes about his wife Jenna in the most adorable way, including to praise her dancing skills as superior to his. That Tatum, he sure seems like the perfect guy.

“Magic Mike XXL” will be out in theaters in July 2015, and will star Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias, Amber Heard, Donald Glover, Jada Pinkett Smith, Elizabeth Banks, and Andie MacDowell.

Enjoy!
