14 DAY TRIAL // 29-year-old heartthrob Channing Tatum has married girlfriend Jenna Dewan in a private but very beautiful ceremony held over the weekend in Malibu, Us Magazine can confirm. The couple, who started dating shortly after they starred together in 2006’s “Step Up,” chose for the ceremony the same venue where singer Fergie and “Transformers” star Josh Duhamel were also married in January this year.
According to the publication, a little over 200 guests attended the nuptials, including countless friends and stars. It was not the star-power of those invited that made the wedding so special though, it is being said, as it was the touching ceremony and seeing the now husband and wife walk out hand in hand at the end of it, to the applause of the crowd. All in all, says the mag, it was a classy and private affair that managed to be so perhaps precisely because news of it did not transpire in the media until after it was a done deal.
“More than 200 guests attended the nuptials, which began at 3:45 p.m. PST. A source tells Us Dewan’s maid of honor was ‘Entourage’ star Emmanuelle Chriqui. Also in the bridal party was Tatum’s sister Paige and Haylie Duff, who was accompanied by the groom’s pal Nick Zano. The bridesmaids all wore light pink dresses. Beneath an altar covered in white, cream and pink roses, Dewan wore a white strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and a long veil while Tatum wore a basic black suit.” Us writes of the wedding.
Tatum, who initially started his career as a model and then made a successful crossover to acting and even producing, met Jenna while working on “Step Up,” a film about a street dancer coupled with a ballerina for a dancing contest. They began dating shortly afterwards and announced their engagement in September last year, much to the disappointment of millions of female fans all over the world.
“When it was time for their first kiss as husband and wife, the G.I. Joe star bent Dewan back and kissed her over his knee to cheers from the crowd, who were seated in white chairs on the lawn overlooking the ocean. The newlyweds then held hands as they walked out.” the aforementioned publication says of what must have been the most beautiful moment of the ceremony. A spokesperson for the actor has yet to officially confirm his getting married or offer details on the ceremony / honeymoon, but keep an eye on this space for when he does.
