Channing Tatum Admits He’s “a Fat Kid on the Inside”

Actor talks family life, baby on the way, new film, and being People’s hottest man alive

Channing Tatum has really managed to break in the movie industry and establish himself as a versatile, talented actor who, at the same time, is an incredibly relatable and, yes, adorable celebrity.

As it turns out, here’s one more thing that will make you love him even more: he’s a “fat kid on the inside.”

Though a former dancer and, as we’ve seen in movies, with a body to die for, Channing admits in a new interview with Cosmopolitan magazine that his polished exterior is only so for movies.

In real life, he loves to eat, and it inevitably shows in his figure.

“I’m a fat kid on the inside,” the actor admits.

“I love food so much, and I fluctuate about 25 to 30 pounds [11.3 to 13.6 kg] between movies. I feel like I have to do a chess movie that requires very little movement at some point, just so I can eat pizza and play chess on the beach all day,” Channing continues.

“And then eat more pizza and cheese-burgers and drink beer. That’d be amazing. I’d give anything for that. I gotta figure that movie out,” he adds laughing.

In the same interview, Channing talks about his new movie, “White House Down,” which has already been compared to any of the “Die Hard” films, only set at the White House, his family, and how he and his wife are getting ready for the baby.

He says making any relationship work, especially in this industry, can be difficult – but not impossible if both want it.

“Jenna’s and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like ‘On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you love me right now?’ And you gotta be honest, and you’ve got to want an honest answer. I told a friend to do that. He asked the question and it turned into a huge fight, and I’m like, that’s kind of the point. Obviously, something needed to be fixed, he needed to be aware of it, and she needed to get it off her chest,” Tatum says.
