Great news for all of us Chanel lovers out there: in less than a month, we'll be able to enjoy the wonders of the new Chanel Fall 2008 collection, the first one designed by the company's new Global Creative Director Peter Philips, who took over from Dominique Moncourtois and Heidi Morawetz in January this year. The new lineup of luxurious makeup products has been inspired by none other than Mademoiselle Chanel herself - and her famous Rue Cambon apartment. Gold takes center stage, both individually and as a subtle undertone to a series of warm, shimmering nuances that include bronze, rich coral reds and beige rose.
So, ladies, it looks like we have to get ready for a shimmering, golden fall. For our eyes, the Chanel Fall collection includes
Reflets d'Ombre, a brand new variation of the
Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow quad, which combines earthy tones of coffee and dark green with lighter tones of ivory and (of course) gold. The ultra-fine powder classic
Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow also sports two new nuances -
Le Bronze, an iridescent metallic brown, and
Bois Bleu, a dark teal. The new addition to the range of powder shadow combos
Irréelle Duo is also a combination of white and brown, aptly called
Cristal-Dusk. Finally, There is a new gray-blue shade of
Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer called
Denim.
For our lips, we can relish the combined moisture and daring colors that come with the three new shades of the fabulous
Rouge Hydrabase Creme Lipstick: a deep purple (
Fantastic Plum), a coral pink (
Simply Pink) and an earthy bronze (
Great Copper). There is a new rich coral red shade of
Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Color called
Enthusiast and two new shades of the
Aqualumière Sheer Color Lipshine SPF 15 -
Formentera (beige rose) and
Papeete (sheer cranberry).
Finally, the Chanel classic
Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer has three new shades: glossy bronze (
Amberlight), sheer lilac (
Delight) and shimmery gold (
Gold Light). Two new nail polish shades will help us fight the chill of the coming fall with a burst of color:
Le Vernis Nail Colour introduces
Kaléidoscope (a shiny green-gold) and
Fantastic (a rich shade of wine). The new collection hits the Chanel counters in July - so stay tuned for more news.
