The European giants will get into action starting tomorrow night, in the Champions League's 2nd round. With less than 36 hours until the first whistle, we should do a round-up of all Tuesday & Wednesday matches in Europe's most important competition.

Paolo Maldini will not play for AC Milan tomorrow night. The Milanese veteran suffered a muscular injury on Friday, during AC Milan's 0-0 draw at Livorno. He only got to play 4 minutes for the visitors and is assumed to miss the pitch almost a week. AC Milan will play Lille away on Tuesday, following their 3-0 win over AEK Athens in the 1st round.

Dynamo Kiev received another blow this past weekend. After suffering a shameful loss at home in the first round
- 1-4 against Steaua Bucharest - Coach Anatolyi Demyanenko will not be able to use Ruslan Rotan and Serhiy Rebrov for at least one month. The two players suffered leg injuries the past week and will return to the pitch in 3-4 weeks time. Dynamo Kiev meets Real Madrid on Tuesday, on Santiago Bernabeu.

Coach Ronald Koeman will not be able to use captain Philip Cocu for at least 3 weeks. The Dutchman underwent a scan last week and was revealed to have a torn thigh muscle. After a goalless draw against Liverpool in the first round, PSV Eindhoved will travel to France to meet Bordeaux.

Steaua Bucharest may miss midfielder Vasilica Cristocea for Champions League's 2nd round on Tuesday, due to a leg injury. The player had to pull out from practice in the mid-week and is not certain to play for the Romanian side against Olympique Lyon tomorrow. Sorin Paraschiv, who also got injured during the same practice session, was confirmed in Steaua's starting line-up on Tuesday.

Steaua will return to Ghencea Stadium on Tuesday, after almost 9 months of playing on the National Stadium in Bucharest. The Romanian champions had to modernize their home arena for the Champions League games this autumn. Ghencea has a 25.000 seats capacity - as compared to the 50.000 seats at the National Stadium - and will host Steaua's matches in the Champions League from now on.

Here are the matches in the Champions League this mid-week:

Tuesday

Group E: Real Madrid - Dynamo Kiev, Steaua Bucharest - Olympique Lyon
Group F: Benfica Lisbon - Manchester United, Celtic - FC Copenhagen
Group G: CSKA Moscow - Hamburger SV, Arsenal - FC Porto
Group H: AEK Athens - Anderlecht, Lille - AC Milan

Wednesday

Group A: Levski Sofia - Chelsea, Werder Bremen - Barcelona
Group B: Spartak Moscow - Sporting Lisbon, Inter Milan - Bayern Munich
Group C: Bordeaux - PSV Eindhoven, Liverpool - Galatasaray
Group D: Shakhtar Donetsk - Olympiakos Piraeus, Valencia - AS Roma
