Champions League Preview - Round 2

Inter Milan will meet Bayern Munich in Champions League shocker

After last night's action in the Champions League, other 16 clubs will try to make the best of their second match in the competition this evening. From all the clashes in Europe later today, Inter - Bayern Munich seems to be the headline of the night. Still, let's make a short recap of today's matches in the Champions League.

Group A

Werder Bremen will host Barcelona in Germany, while Chelsea will travel to Sofia to meet Levski. The Catalan side is top of Group A, thanks to their smashing 5-0 win over Levski the previous round, while Chelsea comes after a 2-0 win over
Bremen, on Stanford Bridge. Here are the team's latest results in Europe:

Barcelona - Valencia 1-1
Fulham - Chelsea 0-2
Hamburger SV - Werder Bremen 1-1
Rodopa - Levski 0-3

Group B

Inter Milan will try to beat Bayern Munich in order to still have a chance for clinching the leadership of the group. Roberto Mancini surprisingly lost his Champions League debut this season - 1-0 at Sporting Lisbon - while Bayern thrashed Spartak Moscow 4-0 at home, with 4 second-half goals. The Russian side will host 2nd place Sporting in Moscow. Latest results:

Inter Milan - Chievo 4-3
Bayern Munich - Aachen 2-1
Aves - Sporting 0-2
Spartak - Rubin 3-0

Group C

It's all Even-Steven in Group C, with all 4 teams allowing/ scoring no goals in the first round. Liverpool will host Turkish side Galatasaray following their goalless draw at Eindhoven, while PSV will travel to France and meet Bordeaux to seek their first win of the group. Results throughout the week:

Liverpool - Tottenham 3-0
ADO Den Haag - PSV 0-2
Bordeaux - Troyes 2-1
Trabzonspor - Galatasaray 3-1

Group D

Top of the Group Roma will travel to Spain for their most important clash of the Group stages, against Valencia. The Italian side scored 4 times in the last 30 minutes (in the CL opener) as they marched through a 4-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk at Olimpico Stadium. Valencia beat Greek side Olympiakos Piraeus 4-2 thanks to 3 goals from Fernando Morientes. The other match of the night will see the Greeks travel to Ukraine for the 3rd-place decider in Group D. Here is how the 4 clubs performed in Europe this weekend:

Parma - AS Roma 0-4
Barcelona - Valencia 1-1
Olympiakos - AEK Athens 1-0
Dnipro - Shakhtar 1-1
