Steaua Bucharest has waited for 10 years to host a Champions League match. The former winner of the continental crown - back in 1986 - will face French side Olypmique Lyon at Ghencea Stadium tonight.

And this is a match every Steaua supporter has been waiting for the past decade. Moreover, Steaua will return to Ghencea after 10 months, since the arena suffered important changes in terms of pitch structure and renovation of media facilities. It will be Cosmin Olaroiu's first match as Steaua's coach at Ghencea.

"I think the fans will have a big role tonight. The atmosphere here is fantastic and I am sure they'll create a true inferno for our visitors. Still, that won't be enough. Lyon is one of the best teams in
Europe right now and we have to play with our heart also, if we want to get a good result
".

"They have fantastic players and a great symmetry between the value of players and game organization. They don't have many weak points, but we'll try to make the best of the ones they do have during the match. Chance is also a big part of the game. If we keep our head and make the best of our chances, we have a chance of winning this", said Olaroiu.

The Romanian coach - the youngest in Champions League this season - admitted that he used to rule for Lyon last year: "I liked them very much last season and I admit I wanted them to win the League. I was very sad when Milan eliminated Lyon in the last minute, but now we'll have to do the same".

He also referred to Lyon's Juninho Pernambucano: "We will try to give him as less chances as possible to score from a free kick. We know he's a specialist and I'll advise my players not to fault too close to our penalty area".

As for the French side, Coach Gerard Houllier advised his players to treat Steaua with respect and attention: "Their 4-1 win at Kiev was not a fortunate accident. They played good throughout the match and won it in style. I watched them in the Champions League preliminary round also and I liked their game. It will be a tough one, but we're determined to take all the points".

Florent Malouda also warned his teammates on Steaua: "They have great players and Dica can really make the difference. We have to be very careful of Steaua and that's why we'll treat them with respect. Still, we're here for the whole 3 points and we'll do our best to clinch the win. A draw here will not be so bad also, since it's hard to win in Romania".

Steaua is top of Group E, thanks to their opening 4-1 stunner at Kiev, against Dynamo. Lyon also hammered Real Madrid in their CL opener, winning 2-0 at home. The other match of the group will see Real Madrid take on Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine, on Santiago Bernabeu. Both teams need a win if they want to still hold a chance for qualifying in the next round.
