Both PC and console gaming have evolved quite a lot over the past years, and since many gamers out there typically use both of these systems in order to tackle their favorite titles, a company called Shogun Bros has come up with a peripheral that will make the transition from one system to the next a very fast and easy one, namely the Chameleon X-1 Wireless Gamepad Mouse.

As you've probably noticed already, the product's name leaves little room for wondering what this thing is all about, indicating quite clearly that we're talking about a hybrid peripheral, a combo between a gaming mouse and a full-fledged gamepad controller.

From the point of view of a gaming mouse, the Chameleon X-1's tech specs' list paints a pretty interesting picture of what we can expect from this thing, as it features an optical sensor that can reach a maximum 1600 dpi (5 adjustment levels are availanble), while the polling rate is set at 125 Hz.

Furthermore, for the mousing function, no less than 7 buttons are available, plus, quite obviously, a scroll-wheel, the device connecting to a computer via a 2.4 Ghz wireless dongle.

The gamepad section of the X-1 reveals its full splendor when the peripheral is turned upside down, all of the 14 keys being located on the bottom side (including directional arrows, action keys and what appear to be some thumbsticks).

Last, but certainly not least, it's interesting to mention that the X-1 can also be used for some more “serious” purposes, such as a presenter or a 3D mouse.

According to Shogun Bros, their Chameleon X-1 should be available in Q1 2011, for the suggested retail price of $55, which makes it quite an interesting choice for all gamers out there (especially if it can really deliver a very good level of control within most applications).
