Starting today, owners of Android devices running under the 3.2 and newer versions of the mobile operating system can purchase and download the Chameleon Launcher for their devices.

The application, officially announced several months ago and released in the Google Play Store in a beta flavor a few weeks back, has been finally made publicly available for all those interested in grabbing it.

Initially, Chameleon Launcher was released only for Android tablets, but the new version of the application has brought it to smartphones as well.

It will work as any other launcher released for Google’s Android platform, but it adds its own set of customizations into the mix, including enhanced support for widgets.

“Chameleon Launcher is a Home Screen replacement. This version will run on both phones and tablet devices,” the application’s description reads.

“It lets you create multiple home screens, each with your own layout of Widgets and Apps. The Chameleon app includes an innovative context based home screen system giving you the most relevant information you want - when you want it.”

The launcher not only offers a new experience when it comes to widgets, but it also comes with a new, innovative context system that was meant to enable users to come up with rules based on GPS locations, Wi-Fi networks and time ranges, to receive updated info on their device's screen.

“Chameleon doesn't just let you customize your Home Screens with the widgets you want. It also lets you customize your own mini App Tray. Giving you the apps you want up front, without having to swim through a large grid of apps,” the team behind the app continues.

Those who download and install the application will also see that Home Screens, Widgets, App Trays, and Wallpapers are easy to set up with only a few gestures.

You can download Chameleon Launcher for tablets from this page, while the phone flavor of the app is available via this link. The former is priced at $3.9, while the later costs a bit less, namely $2.91.
