CentOS 5.7, a free Linux distribution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux that is used on almost 30% of  web servers, received 10 important updates.

Any updates made in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) translate into CentOS. There are 10 updates in total, split for two architectures (32-bit and 64-bit).

The entire list of updates can be found here, but the most important one seems to be related to the Linux kernel, an update that fixes multiple security issues, several bugs, and adds one enhancement, as reported by Softpedia yesterday, November 30th, for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

Other changes cover an updated mrtg package, an updated system-config-bind package that fixes various bugs, updated freeipmi packages with two bug fixes, an enhanced procps package which now allow users to sort by memory usage, and an updated libusb package which helps the installation of libusb-devel packages for two different architectures.
