U.S. carrier Cellular South has just announced its Valentine’s Day promotions that include price cuts of 50% for the popular Android-based smartphone HTC Desire and 75% for the HTC Wildfire prices.

In addition, Motorola Milestone, LG Axis and HTC Hero will also be offered at special prices. The Samsung Galaxy S makes a special appearance as well, at only $199.99 (with a $50 mail-in reward card).

“Our robust line-up of six Android-powered smartphones offers something for everyone, including price-points that will definitely put the 'romance' back into owning a smartphone."

"Our Valentine’s Day offerings will make it easier and more affordable than ever for consumers to experience Android smartphone ownership and gain access to the very best apps on the Android Market,” said Sherry Stegall, senior vice president for sales and customer operations at Cellular South.

The carrier also stated that it is making its Discover Apps tool available on each of Android device available in its lineup. Cellular South’s Discover Apps provides consumers easy and quick access to the best Android apps available.

“It is our mission to become the ultimate matchmakers this Valentine’s Day by helping our customers find the right apps for them. That’s why we’ve created Discover Apps, which is designed to help customers find the best apps for their individual interests,” added Stegall.

Cellular South will offer the following Android devices for under $100 (with a $50 mail-in reward card): HTC Desire for $74.99, HTC Wildfire for $19.99, Motorola Milestone for $99.99, LG Axis for $99 and HTC Hero for $49.

“For years we’ve been pricing our wireless plans and services in a way that wireless users don’t have to manage minutes or usage. Wireless users should not have to think before they press send, access their data services or worry about surprise bills that may come after,” concluded Stegall.
