Cellular One, a regional US mobile carrier, has partnered with Equals, Inc., a Mountain View based company, in order to bring a new mobile application called Party Line. Coming as a first for the US, Cellular One Party Line allows users to initiate, with ease, group phone chats.

Available across Europe for several months, Party Line comes to add voice capabilities to social networking. With only one mouse click, Cellular One's customers can instantly start an unlimited number of voice chats. Up to five friends can join a chat at a time and the best part is that the application is offered for free during a trial period.

In order to start using Party Line, you can log onto the Cellular One official website, found at this address, or call 1-877-4-BUZZ ME (289963) from your Cellular One phone.

Talking about the new "mobile party service," Richard Watkins, chief executive officer of Cellular One, stated, "Equals is a pioneer in social voice applications and we are proud to be among the first wireless carriers in the US to launch a Party Line service offering. We are confident our users will find this service an easy and fun way to connect with their friends anytime, anyplace."

Scott Shepherd, vice president of business development at Equals, added, "Cellular One has been a leader in the wireless landscape for over twenty years. We believe the Party Line application will spread quickly as users experience how easy it is to instantly connect with their friends and co-workers, whenever and wherever they want."

Currently offering mobile services only in Arizona and New Mexico, Cellular One has only about 80,000 customers. However, the regional carrier has a quite diverse range of products, including handsets like: HTC Touch, Motorola Q, Motorola RAZR V3i, Nokia 5310 XpressMusic, Sony Ericsson W580i, the LG MG280D slider and the Firefly glowPhone. All of these devices can be used with the new Party Line application.
