Celkon’s Vogue Q455 is one of the most popular Android smartphones launched by the Indian OEM, but this is only a mid-range device and it looks like the company has bigger plans for the Indian market.

The upcoming smartphone to be released by Celkon in India is going to be of higher specs and, obviously, it will cost slightly more than the Vogue Q455.

The new handset is called Celkon Millenium Ultra Q500 and has yet to be officially introduced in the country by the Indian company. However, Indian blog Gogi.in reports that the smartphone has already been priced at Rs 9,999 ($165 / €120) outright.

Most of the smartphone’s specs have leaked as well, along with the price tag. At first glance, the Celkon Millenium Ultra Q500 is a high-end smartphone that’s superior to the Vogue Q455, hence the higher price.

For example, the smartphone has been confirmed to pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, aside from the microSD card slot that allows users to further expand storage up to 32GB.

In order to remain competitive on the Indian market, Celkon Millenium Ultra Q500 will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box.

Moreover, the phone offers the key features required on the Indian market, such as dual-SIM capability, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.

Although there’s no mention of the processor inside the Millenium Ultra Q500, we can safely assume that the smartphone will be powered by a quad-core processor, probably provided by MediaTek. It remains to be seen how powerful it will be, but considering that it packs 2GB of RAM, it must be clocked at least at 1.4GHz.

Another main selling point of the Celkon Millenium Ultra Q500 would be the 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display supporting HD (720p) resolution.

Last but not least, Celkon’s upcoming smartphone will come with dual cameras, but there’s no confirmation on the number of megapixels yet.

We could be looking at an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording, along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front. The secondary camera could be of much lower quality though, 1.3-megapixel or even VGA.

No other specs have been confirmed, but we suspect it won’t be long until Celkon makes the Millenium Ultra Q500 official. We will keep an eye out for any additional details, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
