The other day, husband and manager of Celine Dion, Rene Angelil, confirmed that the
singer was pregnant. It took six treatments with IFV but the two were finally successful in their attempts at expanding their family, Angelil said – even more, they were expecting twins. In a French-speaking newspaper, Celine opens up for the first time about her pregnancy,
People magazine informs.
Last year, after she miscarried, Celine said she would continue trying for a baby and that she’d put all her hope in the stars and her and Rene’s good luck. Angelil showed himself equally optimistic, saying that he knew of many women who were going through the same experience (Celine was 41 at the time) and that many of them had good results, which gave them good enough reason to hope the same may happen to them. Now that it has, Celine is opening up about how being pregnant again feels like.
“I feel like I’ve been pregnant more than a year. I never gave up. But I can tell you that it was physically and emotionally exhausting,” Celine says of having to undergo fertility treatments. In the end, though, it paid off when doctors told her she was pregnant with twins. ‘There were truly great emotions after all our efforts,” the singer adds. “Everyone knows that Celine has guts and is determined. These treatments were truly hard on my wife’s body. It wasn’t simple at all,” Rene says of his wife’s efforts.
“My doctors had to constantly reassure me. I [wanted] to see the babies. Each week I had sonograms. I heard their heart beats. It’s stressful but I’m relaxing. I look at my little belly. I do almost nothing. If you tell me I have to stay in bed, I will stay in bed until November, when the babies are born. To bring them into the world, there’s nothing more important than that. It’s incredible. We will have a beautiful family nest full of love,” Celine says of knowing her family will become expanded with two new additions in almost no time.
In the same interview, the singer reveals there’s nothing in this world she values more than being a mother. Money, awards and trophies, and worldwide recognition mean absolutely nothing when compared to being a mother, because that is something that can truly bring meaning and happiness into one’s life.
