She was admitted to the hospital only a few days ago, in a bid to prevent a premature birth, but it seems the waiting is over for Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil, as she just gave birth to healthy twin boys.

A rep for the singer confirms to People magazine that Celine did, indeed, give birth, adding that, while mother and the two children are in good health, the twins will be kept in an incubator for a while longer.

Shortly after confirming that she was pregnant, Celine said in an interview she would actually accept to be confined to bedrest until November, when she was due, lest something happened to the children.

This really turned out to be the case when she was taken to the hospital earlier this week to have her under 24/7 medical supervision. Celine gave birth via C-section, her rep says.

“The singer, 42, gave birth to fraternal twin boys on Saturday at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., at 11:11 a.m. and 11:12 a.m., her rep tells People exclusively,” the mag writes.

“One of the babies weighed in at 5 lbs., 4 oz., with the other at 5 lbs., 10 oz,” People further informs. Both are healthy – and have quite a fair share amount of hair, Celine’s doctor also says.

“Dion's doctor, Ronald Ackerman, said at a press conference outside the hospital Friday evening that the delivery, done via C-section, went as expected,” People reports.

Celine and Rene have not yet come up with names for the two boys but, since they had known they would be boys for quite some time before they were born, chances are they gave it some thought.

Either way, an announcement is pending.

“Celine is resting now and they plan to discuss what to name the boys when she wakes up. René-Charles has been to the hospital to visit his brothers and is just so excited they are here,” the singer’s rep further comments for People.
