Celebrity Bust-Up Grande Finale: Mischa Barton Arrested!

The former O.C. hottie goes the DUI and drug possession route

I've been trying very hard not to get into the "retrospective" mood these days - mainly because everyone is doing it and frankly, I'm starting to find it pretty annoying. It looks like every time you turn on the TV there's someone out there really willing and able to tell you all about what happened this year, who had the best-looking kids, who got pregnant (and as I'm sure you know, that's a pretty long list), who went to prison, who managed to get herself arrested... and speaking of arrests, the "mug shot hall of fame" of 2007 definitely wouldn't have been complete without this (rather unexpected but nevertheless welcome) last-minute addition: Mischa Barton.

That's right, the former O.C. hottie and resident bad girl managed to get herself busted early this morning for driving

under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana as well as another controlled substance (so both pot and something else, good girl!), and driving without a license. As a result, Mischa was handcuffed and arrested at 2:46 AM and landed in the slammer while her bail amount was set at $10,000. She eventually paid up and was released a few hours later, around 10 AM to be more precise, when she was caught on camera sneaking out of the West Hollywood Sheriff's station in the back seat of her parents' car. Yes, well, she can't be too proud of herself right about now.

However, we have to admit that being busted for DUI was the chic of the season. All the cool stars did it - Nicole and Lindsay to start with. Maybe someone should do a medical exam on Mischa, I have a feeling she might turn out to be pregnant. No, don't laugh - Nicole did it and it worked... plus there's the added bonus of all the celebrity pregnancies that are taking Hollywood by storm now. You know the drill: if in trouble with the law, let the world know you're pregnant and watch the miracles happen. Well, what can I say - Mischa sure surprised me with her arrest, but her mugshot does look funny and she'll make a nice addition to my "Crazy 2007 Celebrity DUI" album. So, welcome to the club, honey, and keep smoking that pot - it's guaranteed to give you that career breakthrough you had been waiting for.
