At this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards held at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium, the red carpet was covered up with purple outfits. Different nuances of violet and also the monochromatic black and white combination were the highlights of the celebrities' luxurious dresses. As trendsetters legitimized purple as a spring trend, no less than three "Desperate Housewives" opted for purple: Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria. Foxy Marcia Cross was looking absolutely gorgeous wearing a statuesque lavender dress, draped with a clever, while Felicity Huffman chose a pale purple mermaid dress. Olive-skinned Eva Longoria went for a lilac-trimmed beaded frock that made a perfect combination with her sunny skin. As purple was indeed the trend of the evening, even men adopted this color: Ludacris showed a purple display handkerchief and also a purple tie, Eva Longoria's boyfriend San Antonio Spurs also settled for lilac and surprisingly, even Morgan Freeman made a point of contrasting his plum shirt with a royal blue tie. Despite her pregnancy, actress Rachel Weisz wore a Rochas outfit, in a lovely shade of deep indigo. Sporting a flowing, floor-length skirt festooned with floral embroidery her outfit could only be described as picturesque. As for black and white combination, Sandra Oh from the TV series "Grey's Anatomy," was the one who wore a wrap dress in striped black-and-white satin, clasped with a magnificent brooch. Blonde Charlize Theron opted for black, looking like a beauty goddess due to the deep-V d�colletage and the classy pair of heavy golden earrings that matched perfectly with her beautiful silhouette. And her sporty perfect ponytail added some chic to her outfit.
