Forget about the salad and the glass of mineral water with just a slice of lemon. There’s a new diet in town and not only it’s guaranteed to help us lose the pounds, but it has also already been tried out by several celebrities, with the best of results. Moreover, it’s healthy, and is said to truly bring some much needed nutrients into our otherwise poor and inadequate diet.  

Nutritionist Esther Blum has the secret for this. The trick, she reveals, consists of increasing the intake of fatty foods, which seems to go against everything we’ve learned so far, because they can mislead the body into feeling full event when it’s not. Among the fats recommended for this are butter and egg yolk – as opposed to fat-free foods which, Blum says, can actually make us gain extra weight.

What makes Blum’s diet differ from the Atkins Diet, with which is shares more than just one similarity, is the fact that all those who take it up are allowed to consume carbohydrates (bread, potatoes and pasta), with the sole mention that they do not overdo it, and alcohol. As a matter of fact, the latter is an essential part of the diet itself, Blum’s only limitation in this sense being that followers drink straight shots, since cocktails and other concoctions tend to be loaded with sugar.

“Women have done their bodies a disservice, because we have disrupted our hormones to a quite phenomenal degree. We have got ourselves to a stage where we can’t comprehend that we need good fats to live a healthy life,” Esther Blum said, as cited in several media outlets.

And, if she says that fatty foods and alcohol can do the trick with losing weight, then she must know what she’s talking about, since she’s the owner of an already highly popular specialized clinic in New York, while her dietary plan has reportedly returned awesome results with celebrities such as Teri Hatcher of the “Desperate Housewives” fame, Sharon Stone and Sarah Jessica Parker.
