Cee Lo Green is just now finding out the power of social media. After the singer took to Twitter to present his controversial opinion on rape, he's now finding out that the industry is turning its back on him.

After earlier this week he already lost his reality series “The Good Life” as the network decided to pull the plug on the second season, today Billboard is reporting that Cee Lo has just been dumped from a Navy-sponsored performance planned for the 20th of September in Washington DC.

Whereas TBS claimed that the canceling of Cee Lo's series had nothing to do with his now deleted comments, the concert organizers made sure to point out that this was exactly the reason they were removing him from the line-up.

“Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider to completely inconsistent with Navy core values,” read the official announcement from Freedom LIVE.

It went on to say that “Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable.”

Cee Lo has since deleted the controversial tweets and apologized for his point of view, but fans aren't quick to forget. In them, Green implied that if a woman doesn't remember the act, it's not exactly rape: “If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent.”

The singer was referring to his felony charge of rape when he is accused of providing ecstasy to a woman at a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles.
