The news today is that Cee Lo Green's career might be over, or at least, it could be seriously jeopardized by his recent controversial rape tweets. The former member of “Gnarls Barkley” is reported to have been dropped from yet another performance.

Last week, the singer was promptly dropped out of a Navy-sponsored concert and the organizers made sure that everyone knew it was because of his position on rape. “Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider to completely inconsistent with Navy core values,” read a tweet from the organizers.

Two canceled concerts in two weeks

Today, Cee Lo is getting the exact same treatment from the BayFest Music Festival, where he was going to play on October 4 this year, “In light of the recent comments attributed to CeeLo Green that are contrary to the beliefs and conscience of BayFest Music Festival, Mr. Green's performance at the 2014 BayFest Music Festival on Oct. 4 has been cancelled,” said a statement quoted by Billboard.

For Green, this looks like the beginning of the end, since he's also been dropped by the TV network which was airing his reality series “The Good Life.” Soon after Green posted the controversial comments on his social media channel, the network announced that it was canceling the second season of the series.

His reality series canceled, musical performances canceled, Cee Lo's future as a musician is looking pretty grim

Since the media storm that has ensued, Green has deleted the comments and even apologized for them, but it seems to be too little too late, as now everyone associates him with someone who thinks rape is not really a bad thing.

In his tweets, Cee Lo claimed that a woman had to be conscious in order for the rape to be considered rape. “Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!” he concluded on his profile. As you can imagine, this wasn't very popular with his almost 2 million followers.

Green later apologized, probably at the behest of his label and released a dry statement saying that the tweet was “"Idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.” He was referring to a previous case he was involved in, in which he was accused of providing woman with ecstasy. Later, the woman claimed she was raped by the singer.

For now, Cee Lo is still in the eye of the media, and that short tweet is costing him plenty in terms of his career. If things continue on this path, soon no one in the industry is going to want to work with him and that's going to be the end of his life as a singer and music producer.
