The laptop is a fairly peculiar item, with low-end specs if anything

Fujitsu's Lifebook E have the business market well in hand, and by that we mean the mid-range and high-end segments. The company also has a low-end laptop up for order though, or will soon start shipping it.

Called LifeBook AH562, it has a screen of 15.6 inches with a native resolution of only 1,366 x 768 pixels.

We would have thought Full HD would, at the very least, be featured (1920 x 1080), especially since touch support is present.

This is not the case, or at least this is not the highest-end configuration one will be able to find of the laptop.

That said, the so-called “heart” of the notebook is a 2.65 GHz Intel Core i5 central processing unit (CPU), complete with HD 4000 graphics.

Three USB 3.0 ports are available as well, along with a USB 2.0 port on the other side of the PC half holding the keyboard.

Furthermore, Fujitsu included VGA and HDMI outputs, so that one might stream things to monitors or HDTVs when needed.

If nothing else, it will allow Full HD videos be played in full quality, something that the HD display doesn't really allow.

At least the edge-to-edge panel does provide a measure of style to an otherwise common-looking mobile PC. That it is a “bright display for outdoor viewing,” according to the short spec sheet at the Fujitsu booth in Hannover, Germany, is just a bonus.

Other specifications include an optical disk drive, Ethernet support (no way a PC would lack its LAN access), an SD/MMC card slot, discrete audio jacks (microphone/headphone) and, according to Engadget, “cushy” keys.

No price has been provided, but we suspect it will be below $1,000 / 1,000 Euro at least. The market segment above that mark is already covered by the aforementioned Lifebook E after all.
