The new P80 notebook showcased by ASUS at CeBIT 2009 comes with a design that could easily remind users of some ThinkPad portable systems from Lenovo. The keyboard feels really good and the overall machine seems light. The computer maker has included the P80 mobile PC into its P Series commercial lineup.

According to the company, the new P80 notebook along with the P30 model are able to provide users with leveraged power efficiency. This way, they are able to boost up to 12 hours of battery life, while also coming with the ASUS Xpress Charge feature, which enables them to be easily recharged in about 90 minutes.

The notebooks come with ASUS AI Pre-Boot Finger Logon for added security, and also include the AI Secure Delete function, along with an Anti-theft technology that is meant to offer information on the location of the notebook in case it is stolen. At the same time, they also include the HDD ShockShield Protection, which has been developed to protect the hard drive from shocks, drops or collisions, this way ensuring that user's data is safe.

In addition, the level of computing performance the new P Series notebooks are able to deliver is also impressive. They are able to fulfill the needs of any high-end user, while also proving great choices for professionals. At the same time, the Magnesium Skeleton design they come with is also meant to offer extra durability when it comes to everyday use.

ASUS also announced that P80 would become available later this year in a number of different configurations, as it delivers high flexibility due to its Hot-Swap Module Bay. As for the P30 model, it can be seen as an ultra-mobile device, courtesy of its less than 1-inch thickness and its 3.3lbs weight.
