Down at the CeBIT 2009 show in Hanover, Germany, we ran across Clevo, which came to the expo with its nice-looking D900F notebook, which packs inside an Intel Core i7 processor. This mobile PC has a sober look, which somehow goes hand in hand with its performance capabilities.

The Core i7 processor Clevo included inside the D900F notebook is paired with an X58 chipset. At the same time, three hard disk drives are also present, and the specification list of the machine shows it as NVIDIA N10 ready. If we look closely at these specs and compare them with those present in other notebook computers or desktop machines, we will certainly see soon enough that Clevo hasn't stressed the ultra-portability features of the D900F that much.

Actually, we could easily swap our desktop for this machine and obtain the same performance levels for much lower-power needs. And if the desktop computer did not include a similar processor, performance increases would also be easily observed.

The new Clevo Core i7 notebook comes with a 17.1-inch WUXGA (1920x1200) screen, and sports Intel WiFi Link 5300 for WLAN connectivity, Kengsington Lock, as well as a 2.0-megapixel video camera. Other specs of the notebook include TV tuner, HDMI connectivity, Dual-Link DVI and eSATA, as well as card reader and Gigabit LAN, IEEE 1394, USB slots, not to mention the presence of a DVD burner.

It seems that the company plans to offer users the possibility to choose from a range of Intel Core i7 CPUs, including 2.66, 2.93 or 3.2GHz. At the same time, the machine should be able to support up to 8GB of DDR3 memory. For the time being there are no details regarding the price or availability of the new Clevo D900F notebook, yet we might be able to see it come to the market in the second half of the year, and it will certainly not be cheap.
