What else would they use...?

Who says Apple isn't featured at CeBIT? Some of our guys, who are currently in Hanover to bring you exclusive stuff from the world's largest computer expo, have sent in these images depicting someone promoting something using Apple's elusive MacBook Air.

What looks like a USB modem obstructing pretty much every port on that poor Air is
probably what the T-Mobile promoter is... well, promoting, and by all accounts, the mobile network operator has chosen la crème de la crème of laptops, Apple's MacBook Air to show its latest networking solution.

Now, let's stop for a minute and ask ourselves: why, out of all the laptops out there, would a mobile network operator choose Apple's MacBook Air to show off its modem (if that is indeed a modem)? Two reasons:

1 - The MacBook Air is the best looking laptop out there
2 - The MacBook Air is the best looking laptop out there

The reason

Ok, so it's only one, but a pretty damn solid one at that. Think about it, the Air lacks so many features, particularly ports, that, if anything, it would be a network operator's last choice to promote its latest product. Just take a look at the white dongle thingy sticking out of the Air. Does that look like a healthy add-on for such a compact system? Probably yes, for the untrained eye, but if you'd be so kind as to take a closer look...

As you can see, the thing is pretty wide. Not saying that it completely obstructs the remaining two ports (plus Apple didn't design the Air

thinking that someone, some day, might want to plug a Jumbo Jet in that lonely USB port), but this only confirms once again that the Air is just for show off.

An Air user won't always go for the add-ons Apple recommends (or sells). Not being able to connect a wide array of third-party hardware to your laptop is quite a turn off, wouldn't you say?
