Launched in January 2008, the G777 handset produced by General Mobile is showcased for the first time on European grounds at the CeBIT Fair 2008 in Hanover,
Germany. Also known as the "Cinema Phone", the new G777 seems to be the absolute multimedia mobile phone wonder. We say this due to the fact that the handset comes with special video glasses that allow users to taste cinema action on the go and easily read E-books.

Even if the concept of video glasses is not new, General Mobile is the first company that thought to combine this technology with a mobile phone. The result – G777 is a trendy futuristic device that could be the premier gadget of the season. You can easily sit back and watch everything from about 3 meters with the help of its glasses. Moreover, General Mobile added a very cool function that makes the phone suppress any background noise that could bother users during calls.

In terms of technical specs, G777 is a dual-band 900/1800 MHz GSM handset that measures 110 x 51 x 14 mm and weighs 95 grams. It packs a 2.4 inch TFT QVGA display with 262k colors support, animated screensavers and 20 defined background pictures (they can be changed by shaking the phone), audio player (MP3, MIDI, AAC and AAC+), video player (MPEG4 and 3GP), video recorder, voice recorder, phone call recorder, a nice 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, USB, webcam function, remote control, Motion Sensor and Theft Track (it detects when the phone is used by another user – and locks it if necessary).

Furthermore, G777 comes with a 23MB built-in memory, microSD card support and a 800 mAh Li-Ion battery that can provide about 220 minutes of talk-time and up to 180 hours of stand-by time.

G777 will only be available in the second quarter of 2008 for about 399 Euros ($610).

Until you get the chance to buy a G777, check out the pictures with the handset and its cool glasses made by our reporters at CeBIT.
